Therapeutic Approach

Sugandha relies on the principles and techniques of evidence-based third-wave cognitive behavioural psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and mindfulness- based therapies. She emphasizes on creating an authentic, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship with her clients, where they can safely explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
She maintains that each client’s concerns are unique and situated within specific biopsychosocial contexts, and that psychotherapy is not “one size fits all”. Hence, she tailors her approach to each client’s needs in order to facilitate adaptive change, growth and well-being.
She works with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, mood disturbances, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, self-image concerns, loss and grief, and academic/ work-related stressors.
